The Tycosian Chronicles
Background
Info:
Tycosa meaning Paradise is a large valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. and consisting of lakes meadows and
forests the sky is always cloudy which provides calm temperatures it is
populated with beast men or anthro humans (demi humans for lack
of a better word) They have a large empire in the
center of the valley but human invaders from a kingdom north of the valley have
come they first claimed to want peace but then started a war to conquer the
valley. The Tycosian king Wakaris is blamed for allowing the invaders in and he
is dethroned his young son prince Terrado has taken his place. The war has been
in affect for three years and their city has been attacked they called for
reinforcements but it was to late to save the city the people fled to the forest
while the leaders could only watch from the tower.
The
Council:
Tycosa
third week of the great war. The Tycosians fort is surrounded The city is
besieged. Prince Terado has called a meeting of the elder council even the elf
prince arrived. They gathered to discuss the current state of affairs in the
valley of Tycosa. Prince Terado: Welcome members of the council as you know the
humans of the north have besieged the city the citizens have taken refuge in the
western woods but we do not no how long we can hide them The army is protecting
the tower but supplies are low at this point the fate of our empire seems lost.
Elf Prince Sheru: Our ranks are falling is there no way to stop the outsiders?
Lord Cadesha: It is possible to sneak troops into the city to steal supplies but
it is risky. besides the marketplace is to well guarded. General Dyaru: We have
already attempted that and have
lost many good warriors trying. Black wolf Rakuda: The attacks are becoming more
frequent more of them come everyday while are numbers continue to drop the tower
is under constant attack unless something happens soon we are doomed. Suddenly a
dark garbed being enters the room.
Prince Terado: who are you to interrupt the high council Darkclad: I am one with
out form or name one of the last of mystic blood... Dyaru: Mystic blood then you
alone should have enough power to stop them
Darkclad: No my power is great but waning besides I cannot interfere but I can advise you. Seek the dragons they will aid you.
Terado: And where do we find these dragons? Darkclad: There are two clans
one far to the west near mount Calakos One to the east near the mountains of
Tyfone. That is all. Darkclad Is surrounded
by a thin mist and vanishes.
The
Quest:
Terado: So be it the army shall remain
here and hold off the intruders as long as we can. Sheru and Dyaru please
journey to Mt. Calakos. Rakuda and Lord Cadesha go east to the mountains of
Tyfone.. Our warriors shall protect the tower and hide the citizens of the city
go and hurry for there isn't much time.
To
Calakos!:
Prince Sheru and general Dyaru begin there
journey to the mountain of Calakos they snuck away from the tower under the
cover of darkness the moon shining through the clouds created many shadows to
hide within. After escaping the besieged city they headed towards the forests it
would be a three day journey to Mt. Calakos and then what would they do when
they arrived there they had no clue where to begin but they continued on with
only a few arguments between the Elf prince and the war born general Dyaru.
Sheru: These woods were the home of my peoples before your kind allowed the
humans in. Dyaru: WE did not let the humans in it was king Wakaris and he is
dead because of it besides that is in the past and unless we fix his mistakes
there will be no future. Sheru: Shhh be quiet... we're being followed.... Dyaru
grabs his blade and searches around Sheru brings out his bow and shoots into the
shadows. A cry is heard and the two run over to see the victim of Sheru's arrow.
Dyaru: It was one of them! Sheru: Wait don't finish him! What do you know?
Enemy: Ha the elf prince... figures you would flee the tower that is just like
you elves hahaha don't worry they'll find you this whole valley is ours you
cannot escape... Dyaru: That isn't answering our question! Enemy:..... Sheru:
he's dead we should be careful they may have outposts near here We should follow
the Terresa river to the mountain it might be safer. Dyaru: Whatever just don't
get us killed.
To
Mt. Wind!:
Elsewhere Blackwolf Rakuda and Lord
Cadesh Journey the other way towards the edge of Tycosa to a land of harsh winds
the Mountains of Tyfone where the mystic claimed they would find the help they
needed to save there people. They made it through the first night easily and now
where on there way there. They traveled through an old battlefield. Rakuda: I
battled on the frontlines on this battlefield it was near the beginning of the
war after the outsiders true intentions were realized. I lost many friends
during that battle. Cadesh: I'm sorry... At the time I was just a blacksmith
Only when my uncle died did I take his place as a high elder my weapons help
protect many but also caused many deaths.. Rakuda: lets continue on it will be a
short journey and hopefully the war will end soon. Cadesh: Yes peace must be
obtained but can a dragon do it all? They are still mortal too what if the
mystic is wrong. Rakuda: At this point anything that can be done must.
Back
at the Tower:
Guard: Terado! The left wall has
been breached they're attacking through the ball room! Terado: Send the main
forces to defend the main hall repair the breach as soon as possible and scower
the outer walls how'd they get through the main gate?! Guard: We do not know sir
when the breach is covered we will scower the court yard and search for other
breaches. Terado: Good we must not fall yet hold out a little longer. Terado: Also
close off the stream to the tower they may try to poison the water.
Terado:
Things are getting worse I hope they get back in
time..
The
Camp:
Sheru and Dyaru follow the stream and are
nearing the mountain. Dyaru: I smell smoke... Sheru: I do too over there. Sheru
and Dyaru sneak over and hiding in the bushes spy a small camp. Sheru: It
appears to be refugees from the city. Dyaru: These are my people lets go greet
them. Dyaru and Sheru enter the camp only to be greeted by the cold stares of
the village refugees in there tattered rags. Refugee leader Karfa: Well if it
isn't The Elf prince Sheru and General Dyaru of the grand council how are things
at your cozy tower. Must of been fun watching from your thrones as they burned
are city! Sheru: I assure you your prince did all he could to protect the city I
am only sorry my warriors were to late to save it. Karfa: Yeah Were where YOU!?
Our homes are lives are gone because of You! Dyaru: Now that's enough we are
fighting to save you No our whole
land and all you can do is blame it's not our fault, they outnumber us we can
only fight so hard. Karfa: Apparently it wasn't hard enough! Villagers: YEAH!
Sheru: Dyaru perhaps we should leave we are unwelcome here. Dyaru: Yes but when
we win this battle we'll see how you feel.
Tyfone:
Meanwhile Lord Cadesha And Black wolf Rakuda are approaching the Tyfone
mountains Cadesh: Rakuda why is it so windy here? Rakuda: The mountains of
Tyfone are oddly placed they create a natural wind tunnel. Cadesh: Seems pretty
stupid to me... well now where do we start? Rakuda: how about that cave near the
peak. Cadesh: All the way up there? Rakuda: It's no problem for a true warrior.
Cadesh: Yeah I can be a warrior too you know! Rakuda: We'll see. Rakuda and
Cadesh begin their climb towards the peak.
Mt.
Calakos:
Dyaru: Okay Sheru were here lets go to
the peak! Sheru: What happens then? Dyaru: that's for Fate to decide lets go.
The two climb towards the peak unhindered. Sheru: Look Dyaru there is nothing
but forest as far as you can see you can't even see the city or the tower.
Dyaru: The trees hide it all from site. Well we're here! Look at the size of the
cavern. The two light torches and go in. Sheru: I sense life but I don't see
anything. Hey look is that a nest? Dyaru: It is so then were are the... WHO
DARES TO ENTER MY LAIR! Dyaru: !? Sheru: There in the corner! I am Kartano
Nightrider Dark dragon of Calakos! Kartano: My mate was killed by outsiders I
shall take my vengeance out on you! Sheru: Ignore him.. We've come to request
your help. Kartano: Hmph I shall only help those as strong as I Do you need my help
bad enough that you would risk your lives? Dyaru: Yes! Katano: Then come and
strike me I hunger for your blood! Dyaru attacks the dragon and they begin to
battle. Sheru heaves a sigh of annoyance.. Sheru: Dyaru quit playing with the
dragon we need his help you don't have to take his test it's a waste of time.
Dyaru: No I never back out of a challenge! Sheru gets out his bow and shoots the
sword out of Dyaru's hand Katano attacks and Dyaru dodges Katano accidentally
hits the wall. and the cave begins to collapse around them. Sheru: Dyaru lets
go! The two flee the cavern as it begins to crumble.
The
Master of the Winds:
Rakuda and Cadesh near the
peak of the mountain and enter the cave they light their torches and proceed in.
Cadesh: Hey there are clay tablets on the ground. Rakuda: looks like old scrolls
from the city must have been before the war they don't use these much anymore.
Voice: Who has come friend or foe state thyself? Rakuda: I am Black wolf Rakuda
Member of the tower elders. Cadesh: I am Lord Cadesh also of the tower council.
Voice: You come concerning the war correct?
Rakuda: Yes A mystic said you would aid us. Voice it must have been
Darkclad.. Alas if the mystic has requested it then I shall help I am Velatron
Skyblaze. I will be of assistance in anyway we should return to the tower.
Velatron bids farewell to his mate and son and the three head towards the tower.
The
Dark One:
Sheru: Dyaru are you alright? Dyaru:
I've been better that was close why'd you cause that? Sheru: What! me? Your the
one that.. oh never mind. A rumble was heard as Kartano burst out of the remains
of his lair. Kartanos: That was fun! Now what! back to battle? Sheru: What about
the eggs? Kartanos: Not my problem! Dyaru: So what you still want some?! Sheru:
Stop that! Kartano I see you like to battle. Kartanos: Nothing can stop me!
There is a war going on at our homeland how would you like to battle all the
people you want? Kartanos: Okay if there all as weak as him (looks
to Dyaru) Then I shouldn't have a problem Lead the
way. The three of them take flight and begin the journey back to the tower.
Back
at the Tower:
The main gates have been
demolished and the enemy forces are swamping the tower the court yard has become
a battlefield as the enemy soldiers fight to brake down the entrance to the
tower they once again breach the tower by crashing in a small section of the
wall the majority of the Tycosian army has retreated to defend the upper reaches
of the tower. Guard: Prince Terado the enemy has breached floors one and two we
are currently defending the treasury on the third floor but they vastly
outnumber us. Terado: Continue to fight we cannot give up not yet. Guard: I
shall rally the troops. Counselor: Terado there is no way we can win now this
battle will be the last they have already reached the Treasury they'll be here
soon We have these two options A. We Retreat or B. We Surrender. Terado: I
choose C. We fight till the end You may flee if you wish. Counselor: I do Terado
I apologize but you are a fool you will lose. The cowardly counselor then
retreats through the back stairs and flees the tower.
Hope
Arrives:
Sheru: There is the tower I hope we're
not to late.. Dyaru: Okay Katranos when we get there drop us off at the top and
then kill anything that moves. Kartanos: Does that include you? Sheru: Those are
the outsiders that killed your mate! Kartanos: Ahh I understand okay Kill any
thing that moves!
The
Battle:
Sheru and Dyaru arrive in the tower to
see an all out war. Sheru: Are we to late!? Dyaru: We must battle are way to the
main chamber we have to find Prince Terado and the others! Sheru: My archery
will do little good here. Dyaru picks up a blade from a dead soldier. Dyaru:
Ever use one of these? Sheru: 0_o' But that was his it may be cursed! Dyaru:
Just take it and fight your way through we have to get to the top!-- Rakuda:
Okay we can take this passage way to the third floor but then we'll have to
fight our way in. They look up to see a large black dragon diving in on a group
of warriors. Cadesha: Looks like the others made it here to We have to find
Terado! They climb up the stairs and run into the counselor. Rakuda: Hey where
is Terado is he alive? Counselor: He is in the main chamber but it's probably to
late now. Cadesh: We have to hurry they arrive at the third floor and begin battling
there way towards the fourth where they are greeted by there remaining army they
meet Sheru and Dyaru and retreat with the troops to an upper level the troops
remain and the four council members retreat towards the main chamber. Sheru:
Prince Terado we have returned. Terado: Then you have come with reinforcements
how many dragons have come from the two clans? Sheru: Sir when we arrived at
Calakos we could only find one he is currently fighting outside. Rakuda: Same
here we arrived at Tyfone to find two dragons and some hatchlings the mother
remained with the young and the father is battling outside. Terado: You mean
there are only two! The mystic said clans there should be many more then that!
He was wrong we are doomed...
The
Dragons:
Kartanos begins his onslaught on the
invaders he thrashes through every group he can. Velatron watches in amazement
as this other dragon thrashes through one group after another. Velatron: You
fool there is no method in such an attack your gonna get yourself killed!
Kartanos: If your here to help stop lecturing and start killing! Velatron: Very
well... Velatron begins attacking first diving upon a group attempting to enter
the tower then focusing on the others around the inner wall of the court yard.
Kartanos: well I'm done with these weaklings I'm going after there camp so don't
expect anymore. Velatron: There camp is well defended your gonna get killed.
Kartanos: Hey if you keep watching me then your gonna get killed pay attention
to your own surroundings! Kartanos dives down on one tent after another chasseing
out any one inside then slaying them. Velatron watches the other dragon leisurely
hopping from one tent to the next which made him an easy target and he was
ambushed by the survivors he easily deals with them but not before taking some
heavy hits. Kartanos on the other hand has destroyed the now deserted camp and
slain any who stayed. He returned to the fortress Kartanos: Velatron looks like
you took a few good hits. Velatron: I should have heeded your words.. I am going
into the fortress I will fight them as much as I can then at least Veltras and
the others will know there father died a hero. Kartanos: Fine I will stay here
and finish off all who remain.
The
Finale:
There are
few remaining troops left of the Tycosain army those who remain have fallen back
towards the main chamber near the top. Terado: They have us cornered we'll have
to fight. Sheru: Lets get ready.. Dyaru: My blade will protect us.. Rakuda: My
claws will feel there flesh... Cadesh: They will not get past... The remaining troops retreat to the
throne room. Terado: This is it... Dyaru: It ends here... Sheru: It's in fates
hands now. Rakuda: We make our own destiny! The invading army arrives and the
battle begins in full. Sword
against sword claw against flesh. Meanwhile Velatron is fighting his way towards
the top and with great difficulty has arrived at the main chamber. Terado: A
dragon in here?! Rakuda: Velatron! Cadesh: your injured.. Velatron: This battle
ends here these are the remaining forces finish them and we've won..
Velatron slashes the enemies wildly while Sheru fights from a corner
Cadesh is slain during the battle Dyaru is injured attempting to protect Prince
Terado Rakuda and the troops finish off the remaining attackers To find that
Velatron had died as had their prince Terado. Dyaru laid injured nearby. Dyaru:
I tried to save Terado but couldn't for this I am sorry. Sheru: It appears
Cadesh is dead too but we have won we have wiped out all the invaders.
An
Empty Victory:
Sheru Dyaru and Rykuda return to
the woods to report the victory only to find Karfa and the counselor. Karfa: We
have decided not to go back to the city we will live out here in the woods and
start a new life a new world. Rykuda: what about the city and the tower?!
Counselor: That was the cause of the war in the first place let them have it we
will live out here in peace from now on. Dyaru: Then what were we fighting for?!
Hundreds of your people died your prince died fighting for that and your just
going to abandon it?! Karfa: It may seem cold but yes their sacrifice let us
escape to safety to build a new life here. Besides even if you killed them all
they will return for it someday when they return there will be another war that
can be avoided if we live out here in the shadows. Dyaru: So that's it then
hundreds sacrificed there lives so you could live hiding in the forest! I should
kill you all! Sheru: Calm yourself come let us go.. It is a victory yet an empty
one I am sorry. Kartanos flies down. Kartanos: I just took out the last of them
I will be leaving now. Sheru: Thank you... Dyaru: I'm gonna return to the tower
and attempt to repair it I'll see that their sacrifices weren't in vain. Rykuda:
I shall go to what will you do Sheru.. Sheru: I must return to my people.
Suddenly as if from nowhere The mystic darkclad arrives. Sheru: Oh great mystic
what went wrong were are efforts in vain? Darkclad: Do not fear for you have won
a great victory the war is not yet over but do not worry Your descendants shall
see the war the way it was meant to be. This land is entwined in the threads of
fate and it's destiny is still to be woven.
So carry on with your lives though your actions may seem meaningless now they will make all the difference someday.
