Rant: Global Warming

(By Jafira)

One thing that I cannot stand are those who honestly believe that global warming is simply a myth made up to destroy the economies of small countries, encourage socialism, hurt the public and so forth. Idiots, wake up. There is an agenda here and that is to protect this planet from those who would abuse it in the name of finacial gain. We need to stop building more factories, instead we need to redesign the ones that we already have, we need to stop building new houses, instead we need to rebuild the ones that we already have, we need to stop polluting so that the ozone layer doesn't disintegrate any more then it has, and lastly we need fuel efficient or alternative energy cars. Not only for the good of the environment, but for the good of us all.

Whether or not Global Warming is man made or not, there is a reason that so many people refuse to believe in it, and once again it's money. Money is more important then the planet we live on! Money is more important then whether or not you the individual can go outside without getting cancer. Money is more important then building you a decent car that works, and that my friends is greed.

You want to know why governments would prefer to build new factories rather then refurbish the ones they just shut down last week? Because the labor it takes to waste resources building a new one helps their economy, good for their wallets, bad for the world. In a city with hundreds of empty homes, developers would rather bulldoze the nearby forest and build new houses then to refurbish the old abandoned ones, why? Same reason, the resources and land destruction benefit their wallets and the economy more then fixing the homes that already exist.

If it's bad for the planet it's good for their wallets. When a factory has to cap emissions that costs them money, so why would they want to do that? Oil drilling is occurring in the wilderness of Alaska, why? It's good for the wallets of those in power, but is it good for Alaska's natural beauty? No. We have the technology for fuel efficient and electric cars, but are they common? No, the reason? Fuel efficient and electric cars are good for the individual and the environment, but they don't make money!

Money is considered more important then the planet, nature, or your personal happiness. When the ozone layer begun to collapse people complained, nothing was done. I wouldn't be surprised if man made global warming was made up to bring attention to the problems this world faces, atleast now something is being done. I'm glad global warming is occuring because something must be done or nothing will ever change. Money cannot continue to have more value then human life and mother earth. The campaign to make the world a better place must continue and even if global warming is somehow false, that should not be an excuse not to protect our resources, our environment, our life forms and our world.

If you try to tell me that “God is in control and we shouldn't concern ourselves with the state of a temporary planet” I will tell you that he left you as stewards of this planet, and that if you truly believe in his word you know that you have a spiritual obligation to protect this planet, nature and it's creations. It's not earth worship it's just common sense! Just as all religions can agree. We as humans have a responsibility to respect and protect this rock that we just happened to be luckily enough to be dropped on, or we are all going to have to pay a price. Don't let a corporate minority ruin the planet for the majority! Stand up for the world and make a difference! You have the power to change things!
